Does this sound like you or someone you love?

I know I completed it but I can’t find it.
She lives in a tornado.
How can they be so smart and so forgetful?
I tend to procrastinate, avoid, and shut down.
He’d be late for his own wedding.
She constantly puts her foot in her mouth.
They say inappropriate things and have no friends.

These comments are referring to challenges with executive functioning. If you’ve been told you have executive functioning dysregulation, that isn’t a diagnosis. The term executive functioning dysregulation is a structure for understanding challenges with:

• attention
• organization
• academics
• social insights
• self-awareness

... so that you can accomplish your goals and manage your daily life.

Executive Functioning challenges tend to run in families and are common in ADHD, Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Tourette’s Syndrome, Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, as well as certain medical disorders, such as Diabetes and Allergies.

Executive Functioning is not intelligence. The executive functioning system in our brains translates what we already know into action. You can be extremely intelligent and have challenges with executive functioning.

Your executive functioning system is like having a smart engine in your car, telling you when to start and stop, speed up, shift gears, and stop while tracking and coordinating any additional and relevant knowledge necessary to get you to where you want to be.

We all have strengths and weaknesses in our executive functioning. At the same time, when you live with executive functioning deficits there can be significant difficulties in one or more executive functions, which can affect your performance overall and make it tough for your strengths to shine.

To support you to manage these challenges, I’ve chunked down executive functioning into nine areas in this self-guided, go-at-your-own-pace course where you will:

• Learn the nine areas of executive functioning and how they each impact performance
• Get clarity on strengths and weaknesses in executive functioning for you and those you love
